Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to enhance their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items that have weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to a stronger base. Items with strong bases, such as the Titans of eth have little changes in their stats.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus or extra effect, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found in loot, thrown away by enemies or received as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.
To upgrade a weapon or piece of armor, the user must choose it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be as well as the required component or material needed for the upgrade to take place.
There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They provide a smaller bonus than upgrade components that have a type limitation. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, but cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix to the end of the item's name. If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs with a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for inscriptions which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now categorised in tracks, and each item can be upgraded a certain number of times before it's "leveled out." The costs for upgrading increase with each level, but the materials required do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a handful of essential items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across several pieces.
This will enable the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy and it is reset to 0 in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade is successful.
Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level, it is able to get affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes available is contingent on the item's base type. For instance, an uncommon or unique weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests to complete, depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

Each upgraded item can have a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to the regular affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher the chance of receiving the bonus of your choice.
The game also includes number sets that grant an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an unit. This is a great way to give the character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the initial stages. This is because rerolling could offer a quicker route to becoming a strong character, allowing them to reach higher levels and advance in the game more quickly.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be organized in different ways. They can have different sizes, have no elements at all, or have a single element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They can also be used to analyze patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, including size and shape.
There are many set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading, while some are not. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets with high defense value and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons do not boost the stats of the item when in comparison to their purple counterparts.
