World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage each time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be inserted. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and Ascended equipment, as well in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the equipment to which it is applied (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment that require the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop or by collecting them from enemies when upgrading other gear.
The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will drop during the next reset. This gives players an incentive to upgrade their equipment even when they're not sure how much it can be improved upon an update.
The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give a bonus if they are reinserted.
Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we suggest upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as you can.
You will often find in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. Only more info can be salvaged and re-placed by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that can boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Using the Glyph can boost all nodes that are connected to it, and you should try to place your Glyphs near key nodes on the Graph to maximise the impact. For example an Druid should aim to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, however, you may also want to be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The item upgrading system allows players to increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level requires a different number of components to be reached and the cost of upgrading increase as the item gets leveled up.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient can be obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player upgrades an item it is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could become more expensive even if you do not need it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, provided that the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do this. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it is based on a level 1 base and completely different bonuses. This can be useful however it shouldn't be done often as it could waste resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their gear. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or does not swim as dolphins). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely useful in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth up to 50x the value of the non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency and items to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon items will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to return to its original state, which requires the player to purchase more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.
If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained, such as chances to be crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to the value of the base item. For instance, a common item might have five upgrades for a price of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.
Premium items could have different upgrade requirements from normal equipment. For instance they may require less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. Whatever the case, players will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the expenses that are listed above.
